Grunewald Guild - Celebrating the relationships between Art and Faith since 1980

Join us in the beautiful, quietude of winter. Our Winter Program provides an ideal time to come for a spiritual retreat, individual art experience, or for a group retreat.

Normally we have snow from mid-December through March, and there is ample opportunity for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and other winter activities. Nearby Leavenworth, named the "Ultimate Christmas Town USA," is a fantasy of lights and Bavarian charm from Thanksgiving through February.

Advent Retreats

This is one of our most popular events, a chance to visit us during the festive holiday season. We welcome you Friday night with dinner and a short art presentation by our retired director, Richard Caemmerer. Saturday we all together for join for breakfast, then its over to the studios for an Advent art project.

After lunch you are free to travel into Leavenworth to enjoy the annual Christmas Lighting Festival, and have dinner on your own in the charming Bavarian Village. We will be waiting with cocoa, popcorn and a hot fire for you when you return. Sunday concludes with breakfast, and fond farewells. Sign up early, these weekends fill up fast! We welcome families.

"Twelve Days of Christmas" Retreats

We want to welcome friends old & new to celebrate the Epiphany season by coming out for Winter retreat, anytime during the Twelve Days of Christmas (December 26th - January 6th). Come for one day ("a partridge in a pear tree") or many (i.e. seven swans a-swimming?"). Rumor has it that on New Year's Eve there will be ladies dancing and lords a-leaping.
