One Equal Heart Foundation and the Grünewald Guild are co-sponsoring a pilgrimage of artists to Chiapas, Mexico, March 6-21, 2010. Travel will be facilitated by Mike Mains, Guild member, singer and songwriter, and Jeannie Berwick, Executive Director of One Equal Heart Foundation. Jeannie has been facilitating delegations to Chiapas since 1998. Master weavers and textile artists, Liz Caemmerer and Suzanne Halvorson, will travel with our group as our artists-in-residence. Interested in joining this adventure with us? Contact Dan at dan@artfaith.com or visit the One Equal Heart Foundation website.
Gilly Sakakini, Guild Faculty member, is hosting an art tour of the English countryside, with visits to cathedrals, country chapels and historic sites. Richard and Liz Caemmerer will travel as artists-in-residence, focusing particularly upon the liturgical artwork of Stanley Spencer. Workshops by Gilly and Richard in sketching, painting and fabric dyeing are included in this unforgettable experience. If you are interested in participating, contact Dan at dan@artfaith.com for more information.
We enjoy offering the opportunity for students to expand their educational experience by coming to the Guild for part of their studies. Each January we welcome students from the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago for "Art and the Gospels", facilitated by Director Emeritus Richard Caemmerer. We are open to adding students from other institutions, or any group or individual who wishes to participate in this unique 3-week educational experience.
Please take a look at LSTC student experiences on their blogspot, www.grunewaldvisitors.blogspot.com
If you are either a student or a faculty member and would like to partner with the Guild for a creative educational extension program, please contact us at office@artfaith.com or call (509) 763-3693.
